Alford is a director in the firm’s healthcare practice, based in our Chicago office. He advises community hospitals, academic medical centers, and multi-state health systems on mergers and acquisitions, strategic initiatives, capital structure and capital-raising.
Alford joined PFM with nearly 20 years of investment banking experience focusing on non-profit healthcare providers. He has served as an advisor on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions, in addition to helping manage relations with rating agencies, bond insurers and public and private investors. Alford has extensive experience in providing services to various types of healthcare facilities ranging from large, multi-hospital systems and academic medical centers to smaller community hospitals. He is experienced in developing complex financial and structuring analyses for management teams and boards, recommending capital structures and implementing financing techniques for his clients. He has expertise in credit and debt capacity, capital structure evaluation and restructuring, derivatives, and risk management tools, as well as financing related tax issues.
Before investment banking, Alford served in the U.S. Navy for six years.
