Brandon Lewis joined PFM in 2016 and is a senior managing consultant based in our Boston office. As a member of the firm’s Environmental Finance Group, Brandon helps municipal and non-profit issuers across the country procure and finance renewable energy, energy efficiency, water & wastewater, recycling, and natural / green infrastructure assets in order to improve community sustainability and resilience. He works with clients on many financing structures including power purchase agreements (PPAs), energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs), tax-exempt and taxable bonds and leases, and public-private partnerships (P3s).

Originally trained as an earth scientist before shifting into public policy and public finance, Brandon informs his financial analyses with a technical understanding of the assets he helps to finance (and the unique risks that threaten them). In addition to his technical background, he leverages his experience consulting on microfinance, sovereign wealth funds (SWFs), foreign direct investment (FDI), the sustainable development goals (SDGs), and ESG investing to inform the financial and environmental decisions of the issuers he works with.

Prior to joining PFM, Brandon spent five years in renewable energy, environmental and sustainability policy, and natural resource management, working in various capacities at the World Economic Forum, Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, Geological Survey of New Zealand, and Newmont Mining Corporation. He has worked on four continents, is published in multiple professional journals, and authored a major international study on the United Nations’ SDGs that has been translated into French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
