Mr. Matteo heads the PFM Future Perfect business enterprise, focusing on marketing, training, client support, and new product development.

Until recently leading the effort to acquire Future Perfect from its prior owners, Mr. Matteo was a financial advisor in PFM's public finance practice, co-heading both PFM's Higher Education Group and Public Power Group. These practices provide financial advisory services related to capital structure development, financial risk management, and debt transaction management to a national cross-section of higher education institutions and public power entities, respectively.

Mr. Matteo also headed PFM's Quantitative Strategies Group, which provides primary technical, new product, derivative product and modeling expertise for PFM's financial advisory and investment management clients. He has broad experience developing plans of finance for debt transactions, both new money and refundings, while coordinating with PFM's Investment Advisory Group to develop integrated asset/liability management strategies for clients. In his career, Mr. Matteo has advised, in one capacity or another, on over $40 billion par of financings.

Prior to joining PFM in 1995, Mr. Matteo was an investment banker in the public finance departments of two major Wall Street firms. For both he provided day-to-day transaction management and quantitative support on municipal bond transactions. Before beginning his career in finance, he was an exploration geologist with Shell Oil Company.

Mr. Matteo holds a MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a MA in Geology from the University of Missouri and a BS in Geological Oceanography from Duke University.
